Key Responsibilities

  • Complete tasks efficiently, ensuring they are free of errors and aligned with the brief, with minimum need for amendment.
  • Accurately estimate task durations, set realistic expectations, and keep your team informed on progress.
  • Willingly volunteer for research or administrative tasks and provide thorough feedback when relevant.
  • Actively contribute to meetings, with a clear understanding of team workloads, and help ensure the WIP accurately reflects account activities.
  • Establish direct client relationships through daily email correspondence, sharing project updates, and offering counsel and recommendations.
  • Respond promptly to client emails, acknowledging requests and managing day-to-day communications effectively.
  • Identify and suggest relevant media opportunities, producing quality first drafts of press releases, media statements, and other content.
  • Maintain an up-to-date media list and understand relevant journalists and outlets for your clients.
  • Carefully monitor media coverage, compile thorough reports, and share urgent articles promptly.
  • Participate in client team brainstorms and stay informed about industry developments by reading sector titles and attending events.
  • Understand the value of each client and project, work efficiently to support account profitability, and manage budgets as needed.
  • Uphold and contribute to a diverse, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture, aligning with the company’s values and participating in internal initiatives and committees.
  • Start to build a network of media and other key stakeholders, seek out new business opportunities, and gain experience through research and analysis tasks.

Candidate specification

  • Minimum of one year’s experience within a communications agency or in a communications role, advising on business-critical issues.
  • Excellent proof-reading ability and writing skills, drafting engaging, fit-for-purpose copy requiring minimal edits. 
  • Able to demonstrate efficiency in managing your time effectively.
  • An ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple different tasks at any given time.
  • Experience with communications platforms (databases and monitoring services) such as Signal AI and Roxhill etc. and AI tools.
  • Good email and phone manner with journalists, demonstrating tenacity to deliver results.
  • Confident in managing junior colleagues.
  • Self-starting and keen to take initiatives.
  • Up-to-date with tech trends, social media platforms, and AI tools, and able to apply this knowledge effectively.
  • Background in politics with the ability to grow a network and understanding of the political landscape.
  • Actively seeks advice from senior colleagues and engages in regular training to continuously enhance skills and performance.
